Dumb-bell-configured powder iron cores are intended to be used as magnetic circuits of chokes that are rated for high currents in power electronics applications not having high requirements for a level of electromagnetic emission. Low cost of layer winding on dumb-bell core permits to make significantly lower price of finished choke.
