Interferences appear practically in all cables and breaks a normal work of devices and induce characteristics decreasing. At the same moment any electronic device is able to become a source of interferences and to worsen the electric energy quality in a power line.
As an example one can mention:
- harmonic 50-Hz interference;
- current interferences in device power;
- interferences in SMPS;
- high-frequency interferences;
These interferences are induced and accepted by a cable, as an antenna like in the form of electromagnetic interferences
In order to prevent the signal distortion and field emission inserted to a ambient environment by a cable it is possible to use expensieve cable shielding. In such a way as an alternative and unexpensive decision one can note application of clamp filters.
TDK developed a special series of clamp filters ZCAT, suitable for EMI suppression in cables. Among advantages of clamp filters ZCAT in comparisson with filters produced by other manufacturers one can note extremally high value of impedance in a required range. As a result the best EMI suppression is being provided.
Clamp filters ZCAT TDK are comfortable when using and mounting. They consist of two ferrite parts arranged in a plastic case joined by a lock.Thanks to such a construction a filter is easy mounted on a cable. In order to provide a high level of interference suppression it is recommended to place ferrite filters near the entering of protected device.
ZCAT filters are being produced depending on form and diameter of a wire. Among key characteristics when choosing ferrite filters one can mention inside diameter of protected cable and maximal impedance value in the determined range of frequencies.
The features
